The Scarecrow and Mrs King is a pub in the fictional mining village of Llandewi Breffi, a parody of Llanddewi Brefi, a real village in Wales. It is where Daffyd Thomas, the "only gay in the village" drinks and spends most of his time with the barmaid, Myfanwy, his friend who introduces him to different gays around the series and is a gay herself, revealed later in the show. It appears that the majority of the village's population know of and regularly drink at the bar, particularly many gays that Daffyd reacts extremely homophobically towards.
